(Rob from All Plants North has kindly agreed to bring trees of all sizes, and light a Christmas tree outside the Hall at 5.30pm, the day before the Christmas party).
If you're planning to buy a Christmas tree why not pick it up from our village hall. Or get it delivered that evening.
The Litton Birks Fell Race
The Litton Birks Fell Race, organised by the Fell Runners Association, was held on Saturday, 16th November, 2024 in beautiful weather. After a year’s absence, this open race dropped its loop for a shorter ‘up and down’ course. A special thanks to all the local landowners, The Queens Arms, volunteers from the Amerdale Hall for refreshments and the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association for watching out over the runners. Stand-out performances from Wharfedale’s tenacious Ted Mason, closely pursued by Alex Whittam, Calder Valley, and Adam Perry, Helm Hill came in third. The inspiring Kiri Wood, followed by Kirsty Hall, were our first and second women, both of Wharfedale. Notable category performances too, from Ken Robinson, Jill Gates, Iain Gibbins, Andy Holden nd Harry Atkinson. The proceeds have been split between the FRA and Amerdale Hall. Surely to become a permanent fixture in the fell runner’s calendar!
