PAST EVENTS
Littondale Fete 2025

This year’s Fete was accompanied by a blustery wind but once again competitors came to Arncliffe in their droves.
The Road Race had a record entry and for the first time ever we had over 200 finishers. Despite the head wind on the return from Hawkswick, Jack Wood of Ilkley won in 19.51 (the third fastest time ever!) Not to be outdone, Alice Jones of Wharfedale retained her title from 2024 and improved on last years’ time to also record the third fastest ever women’s time of 23.41. The first Littondale resident over the line, was Michelle Miller.
The programme of Fell Races included U9’s, U12’s, U14’s, U17’s and Seniors. There were 88 junior runners and 152 senior entries (another record in 2025). The senior men's race was closely fought with the winner, Tom Bell retaining his 2024 title, in a time of 10.40, 25 seconds faster than his 2024 time. First woman was Cathy Gill in a time of 14.54. (Second in the men's was Jack Cummings (11.04), third (& first local) Ted Mason (11.05). Littondale resident, Jack Paul was 6th (11.15)).
Skipton Brass Band provided the traditional musical accompaniment to the afternoon’s entertainment that also included children’s fancy dress, the dog show and children’s races. The afternoon concluded with the strongmen and strongwomen competition. The 2025 Strongmen winners were Stuart Dent & Sam Smith, and the Strongwomen winners, Cathy Gill and Sophie Marshall.
Winners of the games were;
‘Hang out the washing’ – Charlotte Cowan
‘Target football’ – Richard Dover
'Guess the weight of the bale’ – Emma Lund
'Balloons in the tractor’ & ‘Sweets in the jar’ – Isabella Brown
Over £5000 was raised for the maintenance and refurbishment of Amerdale Village Hall. The Committee would like to thank everyone who supported the Fete and especially those who helped make the day run smoothly – the car parkers, marshals, safety officials, judges, cake bakers & servers, Barbeque chefs, stall holders and all those who set up and took down.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH EVERYONE!
Cross Country Golf Day
Thanks to everyone who attended the Arncliffe Cross Country Golf Day organised by Rhish Paul, and a big thanks to the sponsors and the Amerdale Hall volunteers. We had gorgeous weather, fantastic golf and a great time in the sun. The event raised £7376. Check out the photos in the gallery, and please do send your photos to add them to the gallery and photo archive. info@amerdale-hall-littondale.net

Coast to Coast
Roger Gibson, Brian Howell and Ian Scott cycled the mammoth Coast to Coast route at the end of May, from Morecambe to Arncliffe and then on to York and Bridlington. Through gofundme, Ian, Roger and Brian raised over £1500 and kindly donated to the renovation pot for Amerdale Hall. Many thanks to the cyclists and to all who donated!
